A friend ordered a 'proposal' at someone else's first date

Stephen Durand from Glasgow went on a first date at a steak restaurant and made the mistake of telling his friend Lee McIver about it. McIver called the restaurant, pretended to be Stephen and said he was planning to propose.

The staff went all in: a candle, a bottle of prosecco and a cheesecake with 'Will you marry me?' written in chocolate arrived at the table. His date was stunned and kept insisting it was '100% not ours'.

Stephen took the prank in good humour, and the prankster ended up paying £140 for the dessert and his friend's dinner.

The moral, just in case: tell your friends about a first date after it, not before.
