Three years of messaging on Tinder — then a first date in Hawaii

Josh Avsec and Michelle Arendas matched on Tinder and then spent three years messaging on and off, each apologising for slow replies. Josh posted the exchange on Twitter and it went viral.

They first met in person on Good Morning America, and Tinder itself sponsored their real first date — a trip to a resort on Maui.

Dragging out replies is usually a bad idea. This story is the exception that proves the rule: meeting sooner is still better.
